I came across a blog called Give Me Back My Five Dollars and it’s all about a girl who was in lots of debt and got out of it and started saving money. I never thought I would be so into reading about finances and saving money, but here I am. I guess I am just tired of spending without looking and then having to scrap coins until the next paycheck. So I am learning how to create a budget, stick to it and put some money away. Her blog also has links to other personal finance blogs. So hopefully reading these will keep me motivated to save, save save!

ING Direct

My dad recommended that I open an ING savings account because they pay 3% interest which is way more than my credit union pays. For August I made $1.01 just in interest alone. That’s way more than I make with those paid to click sites!
If you open an account with $250 or more, ING will add an extra $25 into your account. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to open my account with that much, so I didn’t get the $25 bonus.
If you are interested to sign up, try the link below and if they don’t work, comment or email me and I will send you a working link:
freecreditreport.com Update – on cancellation
Published August 26, 2008 make money online scams Leave a CommentTags: credit reports, credit scores, free, freecreditreport.com
I forgot to cancel my freecreditreport.com account within the 7 day free trial, so I got stuck paying $14.99 for a month. I called today to cancel my account. You have to call to cancel it, there are no options on their website to do so. Warning to those planning to cancel your account, they are pushy and will try to sell you their services and even give you special discount prices to keep your account. So be prepared.
Cha Cha update – PAYMENT RECEIVED!!
Published August 26, 2008 make money online scams Leave a CommentTags: cash, cha cha, extra money, Make money online, stay at home, work from home
I was really active with Cha Cha for a few weeks and during that time, I managed to recruit 2 people underneath me. I earned about $48 on my own, but my referrals ended up making me over $50! So for August’s payout I earned $118 and some change. Payment is on the 15th of every month, and I received the money directly deposited in my bank account on August 19th. Not bad, not bad at all!!
In order to receive payment, make sure you have selected which payment option you want. Even if you have already done this, check to make sure because Cha Cha recently reset their system. So my partner, who selected her payment a few weeks before me didn’t get paid this month because her payment selection was reset.
For more information on how to be a guide, check out my previous post, or feel free to comment and I’ll walk you through it.
donkeymails.com UPDATE

Back in January I joined Donkeymails to document if they are legit or not. Well I haven’t reached payout yet and it has been 7 months. I just wanted to make an update so that other people don’t waste their time on that site unless they are really devoted. I checked it often and clicked on the ads when I first started but then I soon forgot about it and I have made a whopping 40cents!
Has anyone had good experiences with donkeymails? If so, please share!! Maybe I am going about the site the wrong way. I just like clicking on the paid ads.
freecreditreport.com

We’ve all seen the commercials, right? The 3 dudes who sing those really cheesy songs about getting their identities stolen resulting in bad credit. Well, I wanted to look up my credit report tonight and decided to check out freecreditreport.com.
The fine print is that the credit report is Free, just be sure to cancel your account immediately after so that you don’t get charged a monthly fee. I was really happy with my credit score! But really unhappy that the only way to cancel your account with them is by calling them.
The credit report was broken down very nicely so it was really easy to understand. I give them a thumbs up on that.
Another place you can go to get a free credit report is Annual Credit Report, which are free annually by each of the 3 major credit bureaus. I would suggest trying that site first and then using freecreditreport.com if you have exceeded your free annual reports.
Credit Card Junk Mail

Are you tired of getting a million pre-screened applications from credit card and insurance companies? If you are like me, you probably get at least one a day. Not only is it annoying, but it’s a waste of paper, energy and resources.
I found this website: Opt Out Prescreen
which will take your name and information off of the pre-screen mailing list. If you do it electronically, you will be taken off for 5 years. If you do it by mail, it is permanent.
Alert Pay

In my adventures of Paid to Click sites, online surveys and other things to make money over the internet, I’ve come to find that some sites prefer to pay you with paypal and others prefer Alert Pay. So I created an Alert Pay account today and am trying out a new Paid to Click site.
Updates on the new PTC site later.
How is everyone doing? Are there sites that you really love and ones that have burned you? Please leave a comment so we can warn others of scam sites !
